MONTRÉAL Pride, from August 8 to 14, 2016

In 2016 Pride Montreal is celebrating it's 10th edition. Even though all the details aren't in yet, the organization has already realesed some of the events that will take place this Summer.

To party, to share and to remember

As usual, the HQ of all festivities will be Emilie-Gamelin Square, at the corner of Sainte-Catherine and Berri Streets at the intrance of Montreal's gay village ! The send off will be on Tuesday August 9th, with a show called 'Horizons' with both Indian and Innu themes. «This year, our emphasis will be on Indian and Inuit communities, says Montreal Pride's president, Eric Pineault. We would like to pay homage to Indian and Aboriginal LGBT's. We're supporting an Indial LGBT committee that will be reprensented here in our city, and we'll go there in India to support them also.» 'Horizons' will be featuring a lesbian Innu artist called Mona Delleau and Indian Sridahr Rangayan (the director of Bombay's LGBT Film Festival). They will also be this year's honorary co-chairman of Pride festivities.

But that's not all, it's also an occasion to meet with the first couple who married in France, in 2013, Vincent Autin and Bruno Boileau. They'll be also honorary guests of this 2016 Pride ! On Wednesday August 10th, Quebec comedian André Sauvé, who made his coming out last year as a gay man, will proudly present a show with other stand up comedians and other artists. A reputed Quebec DJ, Abeille, will be featured in a gig from 6 :00 pm to 9 :00 pm., before 'Horizons'. The next day, August 11th, a major event will take place !

Rupaul's Drag RaceMontréal Pride will present a world première, the biggest ever outdoor show with star contestants from RuPaul's Drag Race. For the first time, seven drag queens from the hit reality series will share the stage in the largest free event of its kind ever presented. Hosted by the legendary Michelle Visage and featuring the public's favourite contestants : Violet Chachki, Pearl, Katya, Alaska, William, Phi Phi O'Hara and Manilla Luzon, 'Drag Superstars' show is not to be missed ! «It's the first time that so many stars from this reality series will be reunited on the same stage for a Pride, we're very, very happy to have them», said Eric Pineault. Although free, Montreal Pride will offer 150 fans the chance to meet backstage with the drags, take pics and be seated front row ! A VIP treatment. On Friday August 11, the 'Diva Den' will assemble on stage a large group of Quebec' artists with a surprise : an international French language star visiting the city !

And it's all under the canope of Pink Balls that are above the street! In Emilie-Gamelin Square, one can go dance and have fun listening to two of Toronto's best DJ's : De-Koze and Jeremy Khamkeo, the princes of house music ! This event, from 6 :00 pm till 8 :00 pm is called 'Toronto sucks (very well)' and is presented jointly with Toronto Pride. But don't go away after 8 :00 pm, 'cause Montreal drag queen Michel Dorion and many other drags and artists will be included in an extravaganza called 'Illusion'. They've put months and months of hard work for this very night, so don't fail them, not now ! They'll be fearturing also cute and sexy dancers ! Now I got you're attention, don't I ?

Défilé Fierté What is a Pride without a parade ? So the next day, be there at 1 :00 pm at the corner of Rene-Levesque blvd and Guy Street for the begining of this parade ! Thousands of people will line up along the route to cheer the many groups, organizations, sports' teams and many political figures of all levels of government. But it doesn't end there. Emilie-Gamelin Square will welcome the many revelers for a great T-Dance of DJ's and shows. First to open the gigs, from 1 :00 pm to 4 :00 pm, Montreal's own DJ Marina, then from 4 :00 pm till 8 :00 pm Chus & Ceballos, the energetic duo from the Iberic peninsula, will make you move you booty ! No, it's not over till it's over. Internationally reknowned Montreal DJ, the very sexy Alain Jackinsky will be in the DJ booth and take well into the night. And this is only part of the program !
