Montreal Pride Festival unveils its 2018 Ambassadors

Montréal Pride announced its Ambassadors for the twelfth edition of its festival, taking place at the Parc des Faubourgs next August 9 to 19, 2018. « Their ability to address issues related to sexual and gender diversity communities, combined with their personal experience, their own story, and those of the many and different people who have come together over time, make Sandy and Jordan exceptional ambassadors and, representing the ardor and constant growth of our festival. », says Éric Pineault, founding president of the Montréal Pride Festival.

Sandy Duperval, singer, DJ et producer

Sandy Duperval is a singer, DJ and producer with multiple talents. Her display of vocal control, power and adaptability allows Sandy to communicate her most heartfelt emotions through music. She is one of the very few artists in the music industry who mix live vocals over her DJ sets. Finalist in the second season of Star Académie in 2004, Sandy has also shared the stage with many renowned artists and DJs all over the world, including Bob Sinclar, Showtek, Ruby Rose, Lil Jon, and Carnage. A friend of Montréal Pride for many years, she is very excited to be an ambassador for the 12th edition of the Montréal Pride Festival.

Jordan Dupuis, columnist, collaborator, video host, cultural journalist and media collaborator

Jordan is currently a columnist and collaborator on 98.5 FM, video host and on-air collaborator on CKOI 96.9 FM, columnist on the well-being program BIEN on TVA, cultural journalist and columnist for La Semaine magazine and host of the Quartier General, the podcast of La Fabrique Culturelle from Télé-Québec. Passionate about theater, he is also a member of the Quebec Association of Theater Critics. Recently, you have seen, heard and read the colorful Jordan on V Television, La Belle Gang (Canal Vie), Code F (VRAK), on the Sac de Chips of the Journal de Montréal, and on 91.9 FM, Moi & Cie TV, CIBL 101.5 FM, Urbania and the 7 Jours magazine. Socially involved, Jordan is an ANEB ambassador (Anorexia and Bulimia Quebec) and in that way, he presents his conference on body image and eating disorders #Çavaaller in high schools. Frequently speaking in the medias about the many topics and LGBTQ+ realities, Jordan is a proud ambassador of the 2018 Montréal Pride Festival.

Since 2007, at the initiative of Montréal’s LGBTQ+ communities, the Montréal Pride Festival has promoted their rights and celebrated their cultural wealth and social advances. The largest gathering of the communities of sexual and gender diversity (SGD) in the Francophone world works locally on a daily basis while serving as a beacon of hope for people living in LGBTQ+ hostile regions of the globe. In 2017, the festival generated a total attendance of 2.7 million visitors. In 2018, the festivities will be held from August 9th to 19th.
