ÎLE D'ORLÉANS — Whether you are a history buff, a gourmet or a gourmand, a lover of the river, an inveterate walker or all this at the same time, you will be conquered by Île d'Orléans! Prepare to travel back in time, challenge your cardio, gorge yourself, reconnect to your inner self! Alone, with friends or as a couple, this is where you will find your inspiration when you ask yourself "Are we going to the island?"

Interpretation Centers

To understand the story of Île d'Orléans and its founding families, don’t miss Maison de nos Aïeux, a former presbytery converted into an interpretation center offers. Maison Drouin, meanwhile, is the only house of inhabitant typical of the island of Orleans accessible to the public. Soak up the experience of this almost 300-year-old house and discover anecdotes related to the lives of its occupants. Dive into the New France era, and visit the residence of the most prosperous lord on Île d'Orléans. Manoir Mauvide-Genest, in its size and elegance, still testifies to the ambition and success of Sieur Mauvide, a young surgeon in the King's army. Espace Félix-Leclerc pays tribute to the great Quebec poet Félix Leclerc and continues through his exhibition the memory of his life and his work. On the banks of the river, Saint-Laurent Maritime Park tells the story of the bygone era of wooden shipbuilding on Île d'Orléans. The exhibition unveils the secrets of the Shipyard and tells you the stories of the past. During your visit, interactive workshops are offered. Discover also an authentic 19th century chalouperie, classified as a historical monument!
