Just For Laughs and Juste Pour Rire revolutionized the comedy world and launched the careers of hundreds of today’s most renowned comedians. For their 41st edition, they will again welcome the comedy industry’s hottest stars and rising talent.
Here is a round-up of queer comics and queer-themed shows. The ticketed indoor shows run from July 14 to 29, and the free outdoor shows run from July 20 to 29.
The Eddie Izzard Gala (July 28 at 9:45 pm) features trans actor and comic Suzy Eddie Izzard, one of the most celebrated comics of her generation hosting a star-studded line-up, at Théatre Maisonneuve.
Fun & Slutty with Jonathan Van Ness (July 29 at 9:30 pm) stars the Emmy-nominated television personality, New York Times best-selling author, podcaster, comedian and hairstylist to the stars, at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier.
The Bald and the Beautiful with Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamo (July 27 at 9:30 pm) features the gay duo exploring the cultural boundaries of modern beauty through interviews with gorgeous guests who inhabit various facets of the beauty industry, at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier.
Darcy & Jer: The No Refunds Tour (July 28 at 7 pm) starring content creators Darcy Michael and his husband Jeremy Baer whose joyful humour celebrates life with neurodivergence, at the Olympia Theatre.
Fab British lesbian comic Gina Yashere brings her Woman King of Comedy solo show to Le Balcon (July 27 at 10 pm). Yashere also guests on the Brit(ish) series at Le Studio TD (July 26 to 29).
Out Australian comic Nath Valvo (July 27 at 9 pm) headlines the iconic Café Cléopatra on The Main.
Géolocaliser l’amour (July 21 at 8 pm) stars out author and actor Simon Boulerice at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier.
The Just For The Culture show (formerly known as The Ethnic Show) headlines Club Soda (July 18 to 26). The line-up includes lesbian comic Judy Gold who won two Daytime Emmy Awards for her work as a writer and producer on The Rosie O’Donnell Show.
Reuben Kaye: Live and Intimidating (July 28 at 10 pm, free outdoor show on the Place Loto-Québec stage) stars the edgy super-queer Aussie comic sensation. Kaye also guests on the Brit(ish) series at Le Studio TD (July 26 to 29).
Créature with Rita Baga (July 23 at 9:15 pm, free outdoor show on the Scene Beneva stage) stars Montreal drag legend Rita Baga with her guests Aizysse, Sasha Baga, and singers Kim Richardson and Joe Bocan.
The Mado Show (July 20-25-27 at 8:30 pm nightly, free outdoor show on the Place Loto-Québec stage) stars the Montreal pop and drag icon Mado Lamotte with guest stars each night.
Tranna Wintour & Friends (July 22 at 8:30 pm, free outdoor show on the Place Loto-Québec stage) stars Montreal trans comic Tranna Wintour with guest performers Erika Suarez, Sam Cyr and Kiara.
L’heure du conte avec Barbada (July 20-22-23-24 at 5 pm daily, free outdoor show on the Scene Radio-Canada stage) is a story time activity for kids hosted by Montreal drag legend Barbada de Barbades.
